Where is Randi Ayala?

My name is Rashid Darden and I like Randi Ayala.

It’s a good thing I’m gay, or this post would come across as stalkerish.

I moved to North Carolina in 2019, about six months before the panini press kept us in the house. I like local news in general, and Northeastern NC is kind of tricky in that we get channels from Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville just as we get channels from Hampton Roads. My mom gets both sets of stations through her cable provider. I settled on the NC channels because I wanted to feel like a North Carolinian.

For a while, I was watching whichever station led into Wendy Williams, but once she was taken off the air, I settled on CBS because I am an old man and you’re officially old when you’re loyal to the CBS brand.

I soon noticed Randi Ayala at the anchor desk and noticed that she was not only so young (so it seems) but she was also Latina and I didn’t get that a lot in DC. I was sorta proud of her, to be honest, even though I don’t know her or her story. Then she had a baby and I was even more proud.

I went on the road for work for about a month and noticed Randi wasn’t there. So now I’m pissed and assuming the worst, and these people don’t gossip in the Facebook comments so I can’t glean what happened to Randi Ayala.

Anyway, hope I see her again.

If you read this far, this is my first post on rashidipedia. I am returning to regular blogging. Something’s got to give. We’ll see what this is hitting on.
